MobilKom a.s has acquired a strategic investor – Divenno Holdings Limited, which is owned by the companies Dial Telecom and Volný in the Czech Republic. Based on an agreement with the existing majority stockholder, Penta Investment Group, Divenno will be buying 100% of MobilKom’s stock. The current MobilKom management has played a significant role in the whole transaction, as it they who have done the mediation. The completion of the transaction is conditional on the agreement of the Office for the Protection of Competition and the China Development Bank, the financing bank of MobilKom, will express their opinion of it.
“The role of the financial investor – Penta – was fulfilled in the first start-up stage of the MobilKom project. Now comes a strategic investor, who has long-term telecommunication plans in the Czech Republic,” says Tomáš Budník, MobilKom CEO.
“Divenno is interested in strengthening its position on the Czech telecommunication market and the connection with a provider of a fixed infrastructure with a mobile operator is a good match,” says Zdeněk Sivek, Chairman of the Dial Telecom a.s. Board.
“Further cooperation with the MobilKom management is in the interests of the new owner, as it has proved its value during the last year, when it managed to significantly improve the performance of the company,” says Aleš Zeman, Vice-Chairman of the Dial Telecom a.s. Board.
“In the position of a financial investor, we have met our investment horizon in this project. After having built up the company and introduced it to the market, MobilKom now needs a long-term strategy. Therefore, we are happy to have acquired a strong investor in the field, together with their current management, which has excellent result as well as vision. It is a guarantee for the further successful development of the company,” says Martin Kúšik, a partner of the Penta Investment Group.
NOTICE: Until the transaction has been concluded, MobilKom, Penta, as well as any of the companies of Divenno Holding, will not provide any further information or comments out of the scope of this press release.
