Dial Telecom company owns and operates a wide infrastructure consisting of cables with fibre-optics and ducts for these optical cables. This backbone infrastructure, consisting of metropolitan, national and international optical networks, serves as a basis for operations of the higher layers of the network. The technology, which uses optical network as the basic transmission layer, is most often based on DWDM, CWDM, L2 Ethernet and MPLS. The network has two independent 10 Gbps connections to the NIX nodes and two independent connections to transit IP operators, also at 10 Gbps Capacity. The Dial Telecom metropolitan optical network in Prague consists of 140 km of cable routes with approximately 9100 km of optical fibre.
